The thing is that whilst i hear you Debs in saying that the type of person who the law would need to act upon would be the very person who would'nt have much respect for any law....BUT we don't take that line of action as regards to street crime, knife crime etc. We keep fighting it and i believe that if something constructive isn't done soon then these attacks will increase...perhaps leading to laws being introduced which shall negatively effect us all....like before dare i say?

new laws must be pretty much decided by now, weve just got wait and see what is coming. I for one and tired of being a bull breed owner dare i say it. The dirty looks, the stereotyping. Im constently trying to be on my best behaviour with them and its tiring, all to have dicks with the big dog = big cock attitude ruinning my time on earth with my dogs. Does make you wonder why we keep putting ourselves up for it?

I hear you too Bev and I am 100% behind your thinking..my concern is how do you reach those who dont give a crap..care little for dogs etc..those on here and other forums are on the same page..sadly there are far to many that are not..I have always said its a matter of when not if..all Bullbreeds are on borrowed time..the main reason being the powers that be can say what is their purpose..why are they needed..we dont bull bait any more we dont hog hunt these breeds are surplus to requirment..they dont understand our passion for these type of dogs..and most importantly they dont understand these type of dogs..good dogs of any breed are few and far between and its only the bad ones in the wrong hands that hit the limelight..not the good dogs with good owners..how we win this one I do not know.. That is why we moved, as ott as it may sounds its one of the reason why we wanted some land to run the dogs on away from the public.... If and when we go into public with the dogs it is so fustrating... apart from Rosa for some reason people think she is a boxer and they are OK in the eyes of jo bloggs??... i never seem to get that?

It just always makes me laugh, them and Akita's... they are incredible and so strong and 9 x out of 10 very confrontational yet people don't see them as intimidating as many of our breeds....It makes you wonder how much of this is due to media spin... I do find our leavitt bulldogs are always approached and i have never felt that people are uncomfortable around them - maybe its the more bulldog appearance that makes people feel better??....

I am certain that the media has created much predudice against some breeds, not just bullbreeds but Rotties etc too. I myself find it amusing when Joe Bloggs walks down the road with a "kc" breed with no knowledge of that dogs' original purpose whatsoever. No doubt the biggest problem with any given breed is those which choose to own them- unless those people are controlled by whatever means i guess we shall all to some extent bear the brunt of any repercussions- i just wish that those in power could deal with who i consider to be at base of all this, the so called breeders
