Hi DDB
We are hoping to work with a couple of weight pull 'people' and get some events going we will put the details up in the next few days.
In the mean time have a look on ebay and get him a harness, take it slow building it up slowly make sure he only associated good things with the harness and lots of praise once you have got him confident in the harness you can get some real work in.
Let us know how it goes.

Mark Landers ho is the man behinde the article is one of the best weightpullers in the world (in my minde) and has ben around weightpull for 25 years.
it is not all in the article i like but all in all i is the best article ever written on ho to begin weightpull traning...
jessica
what org is it gonna be under ?? APA-UPF or what ??
i love to see the weightpull is getting bigger and bigger around europe, hope that we in som years can be bigger then in he USA. the biggest pull i have ben to was the first EWPL pull last year in sweden 56 dogs ;-) that was BIG ..

To be honest we are just going to get started with practice days and go from there.
We have a good cart that we have bought from the people that used to run the APA comps here so thats a start!
We have been advised to take our time deciding, not many peoples dogs here pull unabated so we have to think about that also. I know many people don't like very strict rules its hard to please everyone. LOL
What do you prefer to pull under? how do you find them different?

thanks for coments jessica. fergiie pulls un bated. which to me is the way forward. using bates creates frustration. fergiie never been bated or rewarded till we got home. an she loves to pull. an thats how she likes it. wagging her tail while pullin 600kg must be that she likes it surely lol. after weight pull days when we get home she has some mince an the way i bought her up is that mince is treat. thanks again

yes it sounds like you ar on a good start cool to hear.. it is wery inportent to take your time and to finde the right org to pull under, or maby go your oven way if no org meet your requirements.. i startet up with UPF here in Denmark and hostet around 6 pulls and i think UPF was on a good start, but ther then i began to have manny trubbel with in the board members and that dit no do well, so we left UPF 2 years agoe (i think the have it all sortet out nowe and a gooing good agien) i have also pull under APA, not my oven shows but atendet in APA pull, and i dont think ther is a big def ind the UPF or APA rules i think it is more and more the same. if i had to choise from APA og UPF i woud go APA just becours APA i bigger in the US and here in europe to.. i only host EWPL pulls i do that becours i like very strict rules and i like the dogs to have more OB on them, i whant o have it o be more like other dogs sports and not just for any one, but i like to see people putalot of time in to traning ther dogs for the weightpull and not just baiting them to pull, and EWPL is the org ther have the strictes rules in the weightpull world, it takes alot more from the handler and the dogs to do well in EWPL then in other org. but that is me a dumb OB traning fanatik dog man ;-) i go to all the pulls i can and dosent matter if i is APA,UPF or other org i jus do i for he fun of it.. i like to compite agiens other people and dogs.. the link to EWPL web site is www.euroweightpull.eufor now we ar denmark, sweden, finland, norwige and working on belgium and greek (bu time will tell)
