Ok firstly no offence i know some may find it a sensitive topic but no crazy replies from any idiots who may happen to have slipped in here. im looking for serious opinions from mature knowledgable people.
Ok so, naturally weaker/ not so clever/ not fast enough/ not tall enough, animals die so a species thrives so its survival for the healthiest and fittest.
IF- A giraffe was to short it wouldnt be able to eat
buffalo who are too slow get eaten and so on
(natures second way of making a species stronger) (and this helps the lions too as the clever ones can spot the weak the dumb ones dont)
when human intervention happens all survive due to greed for
££/ people feeling sorry for the little cute one who struggles through the crowd of siblings an innocent reason and a pure pathetic reason... so its survival for the healthiest and fittest constantly from birth.
These things in nature can happen for reasons unknown for example in a litter of dogs the weaker pups die due to a problem that may not be evident however a helping hand would keep it alive and let it live a healthy life yes, only to for it to pass this underlying genetic problem that you may not see untill its old and grey on to offspring wich may develop the same things and even more seriously later in future genorations..
so the question here is should you or shouldnt you give weaker pups a helping hand as would happen naturally only to help for a healthier breed? Or Should you let the weaker ones struggle and if they survive you are more likely to be helping future generations of the breed.
- Advantages, although i have not carried out many tests and this is not always true but they are the extremes, the ones who fight and succeed to feed from young tend to usually be the better working dog that is healthier and actually more intelligent when older, living longer and producing better, where the ones who just scrape through are slightly on the numb skulled side of life and are the underdog for life, who dont nesacerily produce the healthiest pups and are demoting a breed.
Where i see this in current scenarios is where a litter of pups is bred, and even the most consistent litters can have a pup who shouldnt be bred from because of imperfections like genetically carried problems that you may or may not know of.
the best dog makes its name, people breed from its descent sibling expecting the same thing but ur not breeding from the best of the best but from the worst of the best or the "shit of the good" creating half descent animals.
this does not only apply for working dogs but non working also. eg: dogs bred for show confirmation, a person who shows and i know a few would easily breed from a perfect looking moving dog even if it was known to produce dogs something bad like kinks in the tail they keep the ones that come out fine and the rest go to local dogs home or advertised on gumtree free to loving home or for a fraction of the price for a non kink "with papers"that can be linked to other bone and skeletor structural problems, however a pup from here looking perfect but then bred to another like dog and then u can risk producing dogs with wrong skeletons and stuff...the list and depth goes on....
