I don't know a lot about it at all. But specking to my vet about getting my new Little girl done and they said that they can do her before her 1st season for £70 which would suit me, but the vet up the road has advised a lady that i know to have a letter out her bitch and then have her done and that to me is so very wrong i don't know if they are looking for business from the pups and care of the bitch but with all of the dogs homes being full to the brim with unwonted dogs i think that is irresponsibly advise. Plus the lady was up set about having to have a litter that she did not wont. I tolled her to go to my Vets and have a word with them. I never had my dog done as i wonted his bulls there to keep his testreom for his mussels and mentality i don't Know if it is old house wives tales but that's why i kept his on. But i have only got one dog and wot he ant had he wont miss, if i had a few dogs and he was just going to be a pet i would have him done to save any fights that you might get when your bitches come in to season or accidental matings.

well i once had a dog neutered at a very early age and he was as aggressive as any male bullbreed- he also used to mate and tie with bitches. It did'nt appear to cause him any issues- the only consequence i saw was that he was very sexually attractive to some other male dogs!

I don't ever expect him to get along with the other males once he is mature, even if he is neutered i wouldn't expect it to stop male fights..... It would be more about accidental matings.... I am yet to make my mind up i want to know all the facts first.
Cheers Guys

Im no exspert Jess...but i would do it around 12-15 months of age. I dont think having a dog casterated will change dominant behaviour but will stop accidental matings fror sure.
