The breed of dog you own today.. Just interested to hear peoples views about what attracted them to the dogs they own..might make for an interesting discussion..no wrong or rights just chat.. I came from a back ground of Pits..20 years..Staffs before that..long story short last Pit died aged 4 from cancer..with the ban in place we decided to seek out other breeds..after much research 5 years..we decided on the American Bulldog.. This female Snowbird and this male Boss Hog..made my mind up for me.. ;D Look forward to hearing your story.. The second part of the vid is what did it for me about 2 mins 53 secs in....what a bitch.. www.youtube.com/watch?v=y59PqO_S77EStouts Boss Hog www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_O0khoVR-0

I had the full video from bill Hines yard when i was in my early 20s, i got it off PCL i watched it that many times that it got knackered up in the end and i all was wonted a dog out of snow bird and country boy but no one had imported them and i never had the money to do it, i had mastiff breeds at the time bull mastiff and Neos, so never had the room, After having the breeds that i did i realized that i did not need a dog 120 plus for my needs just to much dog a round the house, so when the litter that shane came from came up i jumped at the chances as dogs like him was a bit thin on the ground at the time i new the dog and bitch and wot they was all about the right size and temperament for me and my needs, the AM bulls was just being imported at the time but way to much for me back then plus i wonted to see how they was going to go as you never know wot the dogs are like when they 1st start to send them over. me and a few mates went up to the 1st AM bull show and we was all impressed with the stock but i was happy with the dog that i had got at the time- so my next good dog has got to be around the same size as shane and the working type AM bulls just fit right i have been looking at Cano Corso and Presa but all to big some very good dogs but just to much in size and with size food bills just go up so it is all about the cost to keep a dog as well for me and not biting of more than i can chew-as i think that is were a lot of people go wrong with dogs not looking at the big picture and just going out and getting the 1st pup that they see and when it gets to about six months get raid. I don't need to go above the 90lbs and not under the 60lbs as a good dog from wights like this is more than a nuff to stop a man and a good deterrent and not going to cost me a boom to keep

We have nearly always had a dog in the family first one I can remember was my mothers Manchester Terrier. When I was youngster there was a white English Bull Terrier that lived at a locally and used to roam around and visit the house for scraps and play with the neighbourhood kids I thought it was great and fell in love with Bull Breeds from then on.
Courage, loyalty, strength, tenacity, people friendly, all round ability and good looks what else could you want?
My first dog was an EBT X SBT then I had Pits for nearly 20 years. After my last APBT died I had a break from dogs for 2 or 3 years. Earlier this year I decided it was time for another dog and thought my 6 year old was ready for a dog. I thought about the various breeds and decided a Staffy would be best with the young lad and now have a rescue Staffy which is a great family/pet dog and brilliant with my young son. Some time in the future I fancy an Alaunt or IBT

I'm just kidding ;D We stumbled across the Leavitt bulldog and knew they were what we wanted. Then we realised that there were none in the UK and so the journey begun..... 6 years on we are looking like we are just about to breed our 1st litter they are everything we wanted and getting better the more we see.... For me i love the history behind the Leavitt bulldogs - The attitudes behind the people involved in breeding and creating them. I think that it is sad the shape of the modern KC bulldog . The bulldog of old is an iconic piece of British history and breed that should be protected and to be proud of... I would like to think that our bulldogs are a good representation of what a bulldog should resemble, we are hoping to improve as best we can in the future. I think it would be nice to have the Olde bulldog born and bred here in England its country of origin again - Bulldog that Britain can be proud of - RULE BRITANNIA!!!!
