I watch this on BBC last night and was quite horrified to be honest. The picture shows the cat that has had metal stumps drilled into his legs for feet. But i was more shocked at the old golden retriever that had such severe arthritis that he was in agony and could hardly walk, so they decided to out metal rods in his feet to help him walk. I found the whole this really disturbing. I wanted what you guys thought if you had seen it - and would you do anything to keep your dog alive?? www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1289281/Oscar-bionic-cat-pioneering-surgery-gave-TWO-false-legs.html

i only saw upto the part where they took the dressings off the poor labs foot. It was very disturbing. None of us like to see our beloved pets suffer and in my honest opinion once an animal gets to the stage where it is in pain or has no quality of life then it is kinder to have the animal pts. I have had to have 2 of my old staffies pts not because of reasons like this but due to health probs. It was the hardest thing ive ever had to do, but i would sooner know that my beloved pet is at peace and no longer in pain

money talks i so-pose with thinks like this i would not pay it, if it is to far gone have it put to sleep and go and get a new one i know it is hard but it is only a dog or cat at the end of the day. wot gets me is the way that they keep people alive when they are to far gone now that's disturbing for me for me seeing some one being eaten by cancer or with bad brain damage just put them out of there pain and misery, i would not wont to go throw it just put the pillow over my face that's wot i have all ways told my misses and my dad has all was said it to me.

Its a hard call for anyone to make. I just couldn't help feel as a vet he was slightly taking advantage of how much these owners loved their pets , and used it to experiment on them and gain recognition as a pioneering surgeon... But that's just be being a pessimist!!! It just seemed more about what made them happy rather than the quality of life for the animals. Steve just though the whole thing with the cats metal feet was hilarious!!! ....Typical Men hey!! LOL
