Interested to know which,if either, the dog or bitch has the greatest influence on a litter of pups? I have had a pup which turned out the dead spit of her Sire, both in looks and temp...that said many many KC breedings are done using the latest Ch titled dog ...but how ,many times does he himself produce future Chs of the same quality? I was once told by someone 50 plus years in Staffords,he had judged all over the world, once at Crufts etc and he said that the males he considered the "warriors" of the breed but it was the bitches that determined the true quality. So what do you think? Is it fate or science?

I have seen many males that constantly produce quality dogs time and time again regardless of the bitch. I think it is easier to say that about a stud dog as in general a male produces more offspring in their life time than a bitch - well with some breeders anyway!!?
BUT having said that i know from our experience that our bitch was the one that determines the litter from the appearance to the temperament. I would like to know what others think.

I had a great bitch nearly 20 years back i bred her to 3 different males and her genes dominated every pup, but i think it comes down to which parent carries the most dominant genes , jmo
